1st Miri International Tourism Photography Conference 2019

In conjunction of Visit Sarawak Year 2019, the Miri Photographic Society, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Sarawak, is organising the 1st Miri International Tourism Photography Conference 2019 at Curtin Malaysia as follows:

Date: 28 September 2019 (Saturday)
Time: 8.00  am – 5.00 pm
Venue: Recreation & Event Centre, Curtin Malaysia Campus

The aim of this conference is to promote culture, adventure and nature in Sarawak on an international stage, as well as bolster Miri’s status as a Resort City.

Students and staff of Curtin Malaysia are invited to join the conference for an exclusive  discounted fee of only RM60 (normal fee is RM80 for local participants and RM180 for international participants). The fee is inclusive of lunch and a conference T-shirt. You don’t have to be a seasoned photographer to participate, so long as you have a keen interest in photography and want to learn more.

The conference will comprise two sessions – a seminar session in the morning, and a photo shooting session in the afternoon. Seminar topics will include Frogs of Borneo, Miri Coral Fun Dive, Tropical Rainforest & National Parks of Miri, and The Last Nomadic Tribe of Borneo – Penan. The photo shooting session will include photographing cultural performances and dancers.

If you’re keen to join, please e-mail your particulars (see below) to corpcomm@curtin.edu.my with subject heading “MITPC 2019 Registration” and make payment of your RM60 participation fee in cash to the Corporate Communications Department (Level 1, Heron 1) before 10 September 2019 (Tuesday).
