Speed Solidworks Design Competition

IMechE Student Chapter – University of Nottingham Malaysia will be organising a Speed Solidworks Design Competition from the 27^th to the 28^th of March 2021. The main objectives of this competition are as follows:

• To motivate and encourage students to test their skills in 3D modelling using Solidworks
• To promote teamwork among students in terms of designing and creating a 3D model
• To encourage students to develop the confidence to speak in public and promote their design to other people

There will be an accepted quota of 15 teams in total. Participants are required to form a group of three to register for the competition. The total prize is up to RM600. The competition schedule is as follows:

Event briefing: 27^th March 2021 [9.00am – 10.00am]
Design Model Submission Deadline: 27^th March 2021 [11.59pm]
Pitching Material Submission Deadline:  28^th March 2021 [11.59am]
Pitching Session: 28^th March 2021 [12.30pm – 5.00pm]
Prize-giving Ceremony: 28^th March 2021 [6.00pm – 7.00pm]

The design competition will be held online via Discord and Solidworks software. Design concepts and judging criteria will be revealed during the event briefing on 27^th March 2021. There will be a 30 minutes login time and 30-40 minutes of briefing session before starting the competition. All teams are provided 14 hours to best excel their design.

Registration will be opened from the 27^th of February 2021 to the 20^th of March 2021 or until the 15 teams of participation slots are filled (whichever comes first). It would be greatly appreciated if you fill in the form and submit the registration fee of RM75 (RM25 per person) as soon as possible.
