Student Council 2022 Annual General Election

 

Greetings Curtinians!

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your holiday so far ?

We are glad to announce that the Student Council 2022 Election is now OPEN for registration until Tuesday, 30 November 2021 (5PM GMT +8). The Student Council 2021 is going to take its leave by the end of the year, and is looking for eligible candidates to take over our spots. We are looking for hardworking, strongminded, creative, and especially caring individuals that are yearning to make a change within Curtin Malaysia and its students.

There are few rules and criteria for election nominees to note:

  1. Must be enrolled in Curtin Malaysia for at least 1 year prior to the nomination
  2. Must remain enrolled in Curtin Malaysia 1 year after election to fulfil Student Council duties for the year 2022
  3. Candidates need to be in degree programs
  4. Must be in good academic standing prior to the opening of nominations
  5. Candidates cannot be staff members of the University

Students who are eligible and interested should follow the proper procedure:

Step 1: Procedures

Candidates interested in registering for the election shall download the Nomination Form here. Further details, information, rules and regulations will be attached on the Nomination Form.

Step 2: Submission

Nominees shall submit the Nomination Form latest by Tuesday, 30 November 2021 (5PM GMT +8) via email to president.sc@curtin.edu.my and cc vicepresident.sc@curtin.edu.my. Nominees must pick their top 2 preference on the position they are interested, listed below:

  1. President
  2. Vice-President
  3. Secretary
  4. Vice Secretary
  5. Treasurer
  6. Vice Treasurer

Please note that a deposit of RM10 per nominee is required upon submitting the form. You are to attach the receipt together with the form. The Presidential Division is to arrange for the nomination deposit to be refunded in full to all candidates declared elected. Candidates that are not declared elected shall forfeit their deposit.

Step 3: Campaign Briefing

Finally, individuals that have successfully submitted their registration will then be notified by the Student Council Election Board for a campaign briefing, which will be held on the last day of nomination, 30 November 2021 (7PM, GMT +8).

(Please note that campaign material is not allowed before the campaign period starts. Student Council Election Board will have the materials taken down immediately.)
