Curtin Malaysia and Best Quality Batching keen to forge partnership in concrete innovation

Miri, Sarawak – 25 June 2025 – In a significant step towards fostering industry-academia collaboration, senior representatives from Best Quality Batching Sdn. Bhd. recently visited the Curtin Engineering Research Hub at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia).

Hosted by Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Wong Kwong Soon, Dr. Yong Leong Kong, and Dr. Timothy Ting Zhi Hong from the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, the visit offered the visitors a comprehensive look into the university’s advanced research capabilities in concrete materials testing, structural analysis, and innovative construction technologies.

The visit also provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and discussion on potential collaborative research and student engagement initiatives.

Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Wong and his team reciprocated the visit by visiting Best Quality Batching Sdn. Bhd.’s concrete batching plant, gaining first-hand exposure to the company’s quality control protocols, operational workflows, and production innovations.

These mutual visits signal the beginning of a promising collaboration that could pave the way for joint research projects, student internships, and co-developed innovations in sustainable construction.
