Curtin Malaysia applauds students who have completed their SPM examinations

Miri – 29 March 2022 – The Domestic Student Recruitment team of Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) celebrated with students of several selected schools around Miri city after they had completed their final Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) papers recently.

It was also an opportunity for the university to promote its upcoming Curtin Info Day on 21 April 2022 to the students.

Parents who are waiting for their children were also briefed on study opportunities at Curtin Malaysia as well as financial aid available to Sarawakian students in particular. Curtin Malaysia is wholly owned by the Sarawak government and thus Sarawakian students enjoy exclusive financial options for study at the campus.

One of the parents commended Curtin Malaysia for providing parents relevant information early without them having to wait until the SPM results were announced to consider their children’s further studies.

The students and parents were also briefed on financial assistance provided by the Sarawak Foundation for Sarawak Bumiputera students to further their studies at Curtin Malaysia, such as the BP40 Bursary Scheme which entitles them to subsidised tuition fees.

It was also highlighted that other Sarawakians who wish to further their studies at Curtin Malaysia, either in a foundation programme or a bachelor’s degree, have the opportunity to obtain a full study loans from the Sarawak Foundation.

As for loan repayment, students only have to pay 25 per cent of their loan amounts, subject to them maintaining good academic performance with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 and above.
