Curtin Malaysia Careers Fair 2022 to connect graduates and job-seekers with employers

Miri – 2 September 2022 – Students and graduates of Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia), as well as students from other institutions and working adults looking to advance their careers, will have the opportunity to meet representatives of some 45 organisations seeking to connect with job-seekers at the annual Curtin Malaysia Careers Fair 2022.

The fair will be held at the Recreation and Event Centre at the Curtin Malaysia campus from 8 am to 4 pm on 28 and 29 September 2022. Admission is free of charge.

This will be the first physical Curtin Malaysia Careers Fair since the last one in 2019, which saw the participation of 26 organisations. Subsequent fairs in 2020 and 2021 were conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic but continued to enjoy strong support from industry and government agencies.

Given the record number of participating organisations this time around, this year’s fair will be the largest ever, signalling a strong resurgence of the job market and brighter prospects for fresh graduates and those looking at career change in a post-COVID economy.

Newly-graduated and soon-to-graduate students of Curtin Malaysia will certainly take advantage of the Careers Fair as it is widely known that hundreds of Curtin Malaysia students have found gainful employment in various industries through the event in the past.

They and other visitors to the fair will be able to find out more about the organisations, many of which are leading names in regional commerce and industry, and the career opportunities they offer, including internships, management programmes, and both part-time and full-time job placements.

Some of the companies will conduct on-the-spot job interviews, so those attending are advised to bring along their resumés, transcripts and other relevant documents.

Heading the list of participating employers in Malaysia and Singapore are ACCA Malaysia, Bakert Tilly LSC, British American Tobacco Malaysia, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad, Confluence Contour Sdn Bhd, CPA Australia LTD, Crowe Malaysia, Curtin University Malaysia, Deriv (FX) Ltd, Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), FutureLab, GP Outsourcing Asia Sdn Bhd, gradmalaysia.com, Infinity Abroad, Intel Malaysia, Jinko Solar Technology Sdn Bhd, Keyence (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, King Wan Construction Pte Ltd, KMPG PLT, Longi (Kuching) Sdn Bhd, and MCT Advisory.

Also in the list are Market Management Services Sdn Bhd, Mercure Miri City Centre (Evolveland Bhd), The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), Misarma Enterprise Sdn Bhd, My Team Stars (M) Sdn Bhd, mynext by TalentCorp, Neu Force (M) Sdn Bhd, Noble Group, Palmhead Management & Consultancy Sdn Bhd, Petaling Jaya Dairy Sdn Bhd, PMB Silicon Sdn Bhd, Prudential Sapphire, Public Bank Berhad, Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd, Schlumberger, Speedwing Malaysia Sdn Bhd, The Blease Wealth Management, Turcomp Bmb Sdn Bhd, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, Wehaya Sdn Bhd, WPP Business Services, X-Fab Sarawak Sdn Bhd, Ye Chiu Non-Ferrous Metal (M) Sdn Bhd, and Yew Seng Heng Engineering Pte Ltd.

Next to its Open Day, the Curtin Malaysia Careers Fair has been one of Curtin Malaysia’s biggest and much-anticipated annual events since 2010. Each year, upwards of 500 to over one thousand job-seekers would converge on the Recreation and Event Centre to explore career pathways and job opportunities, and it is hoped that with the record number of employers, there will be a corresponding increase in visitors as well this year.

For job-seekers, it is a great opportunity to engage and explore career opportunities with a large assemblage of potential employers, while for the participating organisations, it is an opportunity to promote their businesses and attract quality talent from Curtin Malaysia and other institutions.
