Curtin Malaysia students crack codes and build bonds at CPA Treasure Hunt 2025
Posted date:Miri, Sarawak – 13 June 2025 – It was brains, brawn, and business savvy on full display as students raced across campus for the CPA Treasure Hunt 2025, an exhilarating and intellectually charged event that drew a record turnout at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia).
Organised by the CPA Australia Student Charter (CPAASC) Curtin Malaysia with support from CPA Australia, the annual treasure hunt returned bigger and bolder this year, drawing 50 enthusiastic participants. The event was also held in collaboration with the Curtin Malaysia Student Council, Library & Learning Commons Department, and Sports & Recreation Services Department.
Themed around accounting and business problem-solving, the treasure hunt challenged students to crack clues, tackle mental puzzles, and complete physical tasks designed to test not just their academic mettle, but also creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
“We wanted to make accounting fun, relevant, and team-based, and judging from the excitement, we nailed it,” said organising chairperson Carol Ling Jia You. “It was inspiring to see students support one another while pushing their limits in a dynamic and light-hearted environment.”
For many, the event was a refreshing break from routine and a chance to connect meaningfully with peers. “It was rewarding to create an event that not only challenged students intellectually but also brought them closer together as a community, said organising committee member Esther Ling Shi You.
Recognition is also due to Bong Hui Zi, current CPAASC Treasurer, for her major contributions to the event. Her meticulous planning and financial oversight ensured the smooth operation and sustainability of the event, underscoring her leadership within the organising committee.
The success of the CPA Treasure Hunt 2025 underscores Curtin Malaysia’s vibrant campus life and CPAASC Curtin Malaysia’s commitment to developing well-rounded, career-ready graduates. It also reflects the value of partnerships between student groups and university departments in creating enriching learning experiences outside the classroom.
