Curtin Sarawak academic to be keynote speaker at international conference in India

Miri – 9 January 2014 – A senior lecturer in mechanical engineering at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak), Dr. Sujan Debnath, has been given the honour of delivering a keynote speech at the International Conference on Material Processing and Characterisation (ICMPC 2014) in Hyderabad, India from 8 to 9 March 2014.

The conference is being organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) in Hyderabad.

It aims to bring together experts from academic institutions, industries and research organisations and professional engineers to share knowledge, expertise and experience in the emerging trends related to advanced materials processing and characterisation to increase innovation and responsiveness to the ever-increasing international needs.

Among the conference topics to be covered are advanced metal forming, bending, welding and casting techniques; advanced machining processes; composites and intermetallics; SMART materials; design for manufacturing sensors and condition monitoring, FEA in materials processing and characterisation and other related topics.

The conference proceedings will be published by Elsevier Journal ‘Procedia Material Science’ and will be available as an open access to www.sciencedirect.com. All papers will go to SCOPUS database for further indexing.

Dr. Sujan obtained his doctorate from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2006 majoring in applied mechanics with specific research focus on interfacial thermal mismatch stress analysis in layered structure. Over the years, he has been working in the area of thermo-mechanical stress analysis, composite materials, and green materials.

Dr. Sujan’s papers have been published in more than 50 reputable international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, United Kingdom.
