Curtin Sarawak Information Day for potential students on 8 March

Miri – 5 March 2014 – Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) will be organising a Curtin Sarawak Information Day event for potential students interested to enrol at the university on 8 March 2014. It will be held from 1.00 to 5.00 pm at the Palace Ballroom, Grand Palace Hotel Miri.

The event will feature course and career counselling sessions, a series of academic talks, a talk on financial aid, as well as a preview session by the Curtin Young Associates (CYA), a student-run association that has over 500 members from schools throughout Miri.

It will commence with a talk on financial aid by Curtin Sarawak’s Scholarship Officer at 1.30 pm, followed by a talk entitled ‘What you need to know about MoE (Ministry of Education) and English units’ by Michelle Voon, Head of the Department of Language Studies and Humanities in Curtin Sarawak’s School of Continuing Studies.

After a tea break at 2.30 pm, it will continue with a talk by the School of Business associate lecturer of accounting Michelle Phua entitled ‘A peek into the School of Business’ at 2.45 pm, followed by a another talk entitled ‘Who wants to be an engineer/scientist?’ at 3.15 pm by Terence Tan, Engineering First Year (EFY) coordinator and senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, School of Engineering and Science.

Curtin Sarawak’s March 2014 Foundation intake is currently in progress. School leavers can use their forecast results to apply. Classes will commence on 24 March 2014.
