Curtin Sarawak representatives to promote university in Limbang

Miri – 30 April 2014 – Members of the public in Limbang who would like to know more about tertiary studies at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) can meet the university‘s representatives at the ‘Ekspo Pendidikan Daerah Limbang’ from 2 to 3 May 2014, as well as the ‘Forum Wanita TEGAS Bahagian Limbang’ on 2 May 2014.

The ‘Ekspo Pendidikan Daerah Limbang’ will be held at the Plaza Limbang compound from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on both days while the ‘Forum Wanita TEGAS Bahagian Limbang’ will take place at the Bisaya Ballroom, Purnama Hotel Limbang from 2.00 to 5.00 pm. The latter event will include a 20-minute presentation by Curtin Sarawak representatives to 500 women from Limbang and Lawas.

The education expo is organised by the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Bumiputera Sarawak (TEGAS) and the Education Expo Committee of Limbang Division. The forum is also organised by TEGAS.

Participants and members of the public will have the opportunity to learn all about courses offered at Curtin Sarawak, which range from pre-university to postgraduate courses, as well as entry requirements and application procedures. Information on scholarships and study loans for students entering Curtin Sarawak will also be available.

In addition, they will be able to find out more about the university’s facilities and student life, which includes participation in student leadership and community outreach programmes, academic and social events. Curtin Sarawak has well-established student volunteer and leadership and entrepreneurship programmes and over 30 academic and social clubs.

Curtin Sarawak offers foundation courses leading to its Bachelor degrees in Commerce, Business Administration, Commerce, Arts (Mass Communication/Borneo Studies), Engineering, Science and Technology, as well as an Intensive English Programme to help students meet Curtin’s English entry requirements.

It also offers postgraduate programmes by coursework or research in a variety of business and engineering disciplines, including Project Management, Policy Sciences, Accounting, Business Law and taxation, Economics and Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Geology.
