Curtin Volunteers! hold ‘Who Stole My Cookies?’ team-building event at Merdeka Mall

Miri – 16 April 2015 – Over 60 members of Curtin Volunteers! of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) recently held a team-building event called ‘Who Stole My Cookies?’ at Merdeka Mall here.

Curtin Volunteers! is Curtin Sarawak’s largest student organisation and actively engages in volunteerism projects like blood donation drives, beach cleaning campaigns and charity fundraisers, as well as community outreach projects in support of rural communities.

The main aim of the event was to strengthen teamwork among members of Curtin Volunteers! and build friendships with non-members, which is seen as essential for the continued success of the student body’s community-based projects.

Organisations it has supported include the Miri Sunflower Centre, Miri Palliative Care Association, Piasau Animal Welfare Support (PAWS) Miri, Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, Methodist Children’s Home and Miri Mental Health Association.

Throughout the day, the participants took part in various activities, including ice-breaking sessions and a ‘Who Stole My Cookies?’ activity where they were divided into groups and competed with each other at game stations.

According to organising chairperson Roger Chai, the event was a success and a very memorable one for all who participated. He thanked Merdeka Mall, Ta Kiong Supermarket and Wonder Balloons for sponsoring the event.
