Employers’ Choice Award a testament to industry confidence in Curtin graduates
Posted date:Miri, Sarawak – 3 May 2025 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) has once again proven its excellence in graduate employability by securing the Employers’ Choice Award 2025, following the National Graduate Employability Index (GE Index) survey conducted by Talentbank, marking a remarkable third consecutive win in this prestigious national accolade.
The award was presented by Ahmad Munir Akram Ahmad Faiz, General Manager of Human Capital Investment, Group Human Resources Management at PETRONAS, and received on behalf of Curtin Malaysia by Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive Professor Vincent Lee at an official ceremony held at EQ Kuala Lumpur on 23 April.
The event was held in conjunction with the Talentbank Raya Open House, officiated by Deputy Minister of Higher Education Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud, and attended by top industry leaders and academic stakeholders.
This triple triumph cements Curtin Malaysia’s reputation as a preferred talent source among leading employers, reaffirming the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically accomplished but also immediately valuable in the workplace.
“This award reflects the industry’s confidence in our graduates,” said Professor Lee. “For three years in a row, employers have told us that Curtin Malaysia students stand out, not just on paper but in performance. It validates our mission to deliver education that meets industry needs, through practical learning, strong industry linkages, and globally relevant curricula.”
Curtin Malaysia’s performance in the Talentbank Graduate Employability (GE) Index survey – a benchmark developed in collaboration with key employers like PETRONAS, Maybank and Nestlé – has consistently outshone national averages since the index’s launch in 2023. This year, the university retained top honours in Chemical Engineering and added a new discipline win in Occupational Safety and Health, demonstrating its cross-sectoral impact.
The recognition brings more than just prestige. It enhances Curtin Malaysia’s visibility among top recruiters, strengthens industry partnerships, and opens priority access to Talentbank’s expansive employer network – benefits that will directly translate into greater career opportunities for its graduates.
For students and parents, the Employers’ Choice Award signals that a Curtin Malaysia degree is not just a certificate; it is a passport to professional success in today’s competitive job market.
