GECOST 2022 hosted by Curtin Malaysia brings together delegates from across the world

Miri – 11 November 2022 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) recently hosted the 3-day International Conference on Green Energy, Computing and Sustainable Technology (GECOST 2022), which was attended by over 100 delegates from 20 countries. This marked a huge success for Curtin Malaysia, it being only the second time the conference has been held.

Organised by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, the conference, which was held virtually this year, is an annual event at Curtin Malaysia sponsored by the global Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) with support from the IEEE Malaysia Communication Society & Vehicular Technology Society Joint Chapter (IEEE ComSoc/VTS) and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC).

GECOST provides an international platform for engineers, researchers and specialists from academia, research centres and industry worldwide to discuss and present the latest developments and applications related to the challenges in securing green and clean energy sources for the 21st Century.

This year’s event also saw collaboration from six other universities, namely the University of Southampton (Malaysia), G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering (India), Universitas Tarumanagara (Indonesia), Indore Institute of Science and Technology (India), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (Brunei), and University of Santo Tomas (Philippines).

In addition, there were 165 paper submissions from authors in Malaysia, Australia, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei Darussalam, China, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
