Halloween-themed Phantom Charity Fest to raise funds for two local charities

Miri – 5 November 2014 – The Malaysia Red Crescent (MRC) Voluntary Aid Detachment 57 (VAD 57) of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) is organising a fundraising event on 7 November to raise funds for the MRC Miri Kidney Dialysis Centre and Sunflower Centre.

The ‘Phantom Charity Fest’ event with a Halloween theme will be held at the university’s Recreation and Event Centre from 6 pm to 10 pm. It is open to all staff and students of Curtin Sarawak, as well as members of the public. Tickets to the event will be sold at the door and all proceeds will go to the two charities.

According to the VAD 57, another aim of the event is to promote peace, harmony and friendship through socio-cultural interaction and cultural activities, in addition to inculcating a spirit of caring for the needy.

The evening will include games, dance and song performances, a Halloween-theme fashion show, lucky draw, flash mob, food and beverage stalls and the sale of merchandise items.
