Shah Nizam Curtin Sarawak’s star player in bowling championship
Posted date:Miri – 26 February 2015 – Shah Nizam Doming, an officer in the Human Resources Department of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak), made his university proud when he emerged champion in the Men’s Singles category of the Miri Inter-Department Invitational Bowling Championship recently.
29 teams representing public and private bodies in Miri and Bintulu participated in the inaugural championship organised by Megalanes East, Bintang Megamall Miri.
Curtin Sarawak was represented by Shah Nizam, Jameson Malang, Aprilla Johnny Ruping and Vince Untai. Apart from winning the Men’s Singles prize, Shah Nizam won third place in the Men’s Doubles category with Jameson.
PETRONAS emerged the overall champion, bagging most of the prizes in the different categories, including the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Men’s Trio and Women’s Trio. The Education Department was second and Curtin Sarawak third overall. All winners were awarded cash prizes, trophies and medals.
Curtin Sarawak’s participation in the championship was sponsored by the university’s Sports and Recreation Services Department which provides a range of sporting and recreational activities for the campus community.
