Astro holds “Career Opportunities in Mass Communication” Seminar

In conjunction with Curtin Career Open Day, Malaysia’s largest satellite television network station (ASTRO) is invited to carry out a “sharing session” with fellow undergraduate students.

Over fifty Mass Communication students of Curtin Sarawak attend the seminar organised by the Department of Mass Communication.

The seminar, titled “Career Opportunities in Mass Communication” is conducted by Head of Indian Programme of Astro, Dr. N.C Rajamani.

“It is absolutely ridiculous if anyone tells you that there are no job opportunities in the media industry. The careers available are just too many to be mentioned,” exclaimed Rajamani. Some of the profession in demand are Executive Producer, Video Editor, Broadcast Journalist, Film Production Executive, Talent Executive, and Screen Writer.

The students were given the opportunity to screen their video production projects to Rajamani. “I’m impressed with the students’ creativity. For a student’s work, I must say Well Done!” he adds.

According to Dr. Thomas J. Head of Department, Mass Communication, “We have received approval to send our students for three-month internship programme with ASTRO.”
