Curtin Malaysia and DK Global Green Tech Solutions forge strategic collaboration through MOU signing
Posted date:Miri – 16 August 2023 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with DK Global Green Tech Solutions (M) Sdn. Bhd., an industry leader in sustainable technologies, aimed at fostering collaboration in research, knowledge sharing, student development, scholarships and financial aid, human resource capacity building, and joint community engagement initiatives.
The MOU, signed by Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Lee Chieng Chen and DK Global Green Tech Solutions Chief Executive Officer David Devaraj Kanniah, sets the stage for a long-term partnership focused on advancing sustainable practices and nurturing future talents in the green tech industry.
Also present at the signing were Associate Professor John Lau Sie Yon, Associate Dean of Research and Development of Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science; Associate Professor Tiong Ying, Associate Dean of Research and Development of the Faculty of Business; PhD student Jessica Ling Siew Kiong, who is conducting a research project on microalgae that is receiving support from DK Global Green Tech Solutions; and DK Global Green Tech Solutions’ Legal Advisor, Victor Chang.
The collaboration will enable Curtin Malaysia’s faculty and students to collaborate closely with DK Global Green Tech Solutions, leveraging their expertise and resources. Both organisations will undertake joint research projects aimed at addressing critical sustainability challenges faced by industries in Malaysia and the region. These projects will provide an opportunity for students and faculty to work alongside industry experts, enhancing their knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving green tech sector.
Furthermore, the collaboration will facilitate the creation of a platform for knowledge sharing and technology transfer between Curtin Malaysia and DK Global Green Tech Solutions. This exchange of knowledge and expertise will greatly contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable solutions within the green tech industry.
To support students’ academic endeavours, DK Global Green Tech Solutions has committed to providing scholarships and financial aid opportunities for deserving students at Curtin Malaysia. These initiatives will ensure that students have the financial means to fully engage in their studies and pursue their passion for sustainable technologies.
The collaboration also includes human resource capacity building programmes, which will enable Curtin Malaysia’s faculty and staff to enhance their knowledge and skills through training provided by DK Global Green Tech Solutions. This will ensure that the institution remains at the forefront of environmentally friendly technologies and practices.
