Curtin Sarawak hosting free public talk on Reputation Management – Driving Business Success in the Digital Age

Miri – 11 May 2011 – The School of Business of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) will be hosting a public talk on Reputation Management – Driving Business Success in the Digital Age at Imperial Hotel on 14 May 2011.

The 2-hour talk will be by Associate Professor Dr. Nigel de Bussy, Public Relations Course Coordinator from the School of Marketing at Curtin University’s main Bentley Campus in Perth, who has vast academic credentials and professional experience in public relations. This is one of a series of talks being organised by the School of Business in its efforts to bring experts in business management to the local community.

Associate Professor de Bussy will highlight strategies for building and maintaining the reputation of an organisation, where reputation is deemed as an important asset to any organisation.

The event, which will start at 9.00 am in the Danum Room of Imperial Hotel, is open to all and admission is free. The talk would be of particular interest to corporate managers, marketers, public relations or public affairs officers, promotion specialists and those from advertising companies.

Associate Professor de Bussy will also elaborate on his stand that corporate brand is the number one responsibility of every business executive and board of directors. Drawing on the latest research and numerous case study examples, he will share with the participants the secrets of continuing to uphold the good name of an organisation.

Associate Professor de Bussy holds a PhD from the Curtin Business School and an MA from The Queen’s College, Oxford. Prior to joining Curtin, he spent more than a decade in the public relations profession as a consultant to major private sector and government agencies in the UK and Australia. He was the State President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and is currently a Fellow of the organisation.

Having published articles in numerous publications including Public Relations Review, Journal of Marketing Communications, Asia Pacific Public Relations Journal and the Journal of Communication Management, Associate Professor de Bussy’s current research interests include the relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate identity, the impact of new communication technology as well as stakeholder management. In addition, he has also presented papers at various international conferences.
