Curtin Sarawak offers MSC Malaysia Free ICT Job Camp
Posted date:MIRI, 24 December 2006 – Curtin University of Technology Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) is offering unemployed Malaysian graduates in Engineering and IT the opportunity to participate in a three weeks Job Camp beginning 15 January 2007.
The job camp is organised under the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Malaysia with the objective to enhance ICT graduates employability. In this job camp, participants will focus on Windows Server 2003, Server Administrator, and will be equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skill sets for the ICT industry throughout the three weeks. Upon completion of the camp, participants will receive the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certificate.
Admission is free and is only open to 30 participants. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their resume before 8 January 2007. Resume should include evidence of Engineering or IT qualification.
At present, Curtin Sarawak is also running a three-week long MSC Malaysia Undergraduate Skills Programme (USP), which began earlier this month.
The 20 students who enrolled are currently doing the SQL Server Course. The course allows them to administer and programme Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database.
According to MSC Malaysia, Malaysia is fast becoming the top choice location for many investors resulting in a surge of demand for K-Workers. The MSC Malaysia KDi was formed to monitor the supply and demand of K-Workers, develop strategic K-Workers training and development programmes to ensure a sustainable supply of industry-relevant K-Workers with internationally recognised certification.
Both the USP and job camp programme running at Curtin Sarawak are a reflection of the close working relationship between the University and MSC Malaysia. It is hoped that with the introduction of these programmes, graduates are able to get a head start in their career.
