EXPLORE! Curtin Sarawak Fair 2006

MIRI, Saturday, 15 April 2006 – Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak (Curtin Sarawak) today organised the Curtin Sarawak Fair 2006 at its campus in Miri.

The event was officially declared opened by YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Minister of Industrial Development Sarawak and Chairman, Curtin Sarawak Council. YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri George Chan said “Curtin Sarawak constantly endeavours and strives towards providing excellent services to students and potential graduates. The fair highlighted career placements, internships, financial aids, scholarships and showcase the campus and its world–class facilities to the general public. ”

Others present to witness the memorable event were YB Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Assistant Minister of Plantation Industries & Commodities, YB Dr Lee Kim Shim, Assistant Minister of Infrastructural Development and Communication and other senior management staff of Curtin Sarawak.

Professor Dr John Evans, Pro Vice–Chancellor & Chief Executive, Curtin Sarawak said, “This event also forms part of Curtin Sarawak’s community relations programme as 30% of total proceeds from sale of food and games coupons today will be contributed to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society – Miri Chapter.”

Employers and industry representatives from all sectors were present to set up booths and deliver talks on career opportunities and also to recruit graduates. The event also witnessed for the first time the new and exciting, “Motivational Balloon House” party with lots of attractive prizes.
