Learn from accounting experts at ACCA–Curtin Sarawak Business Conference 2011

Miri – 25 May 2011 – Accounting students interested in learning the ropes from experts from leading private institutions are invited to attend the upcoming ACCA–Curtin Sarawak Business Conference 2011 with the theme ‘Invest In Your Future’.

The event to be held from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on 28 May 2011 in the Harry Perkins Lecture Theatre at the Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) campus in Senadin.

Through the conference, which is being jointly organised by the Accounting Club of Curtin Sarawak and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), participants will be encouraged to hone their critical thinking, as well as their social and leadership skills, which will help them to prepare for future careers in accounting.

It will feature knowledge sharing sessions, career talks, an introduction to ACCA qualifications, and a financial investment game, all of which will ensure a fulfilling learning experience for the participants.

In addition, three invited speakers – Paul Wong, Group CEO of Sarawak Oil Palm Berhad; Michael Reyes, CEO of Maybank – MoneyTree; and Donny Lau, Business Relations Executive of ACCA – will present talks on a range of issues.

Participation is open to students of Curtin Sarawak at a minimal fee of RM10 (for members of the Curtin Accounting Club) and RM15 (for non-members). It is also open to students of local colleges at RM15 per person for participation of less than 10 students, and RM12 per person for participation of more than 10 students.
