Meet the Academics of Curtin Sarawak

MIRI, 18 January 2006 – Parents and students who wish to find out more about the pre-university and diploma programmes offered by Curtin University of Technology Sarawak (Curtin Sarawak) are invited to attend the “Meet the Academics” session scheduled on Wednesday, 18 January 2006 at their Miri Campus from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm.

Pn Bibi Aminah Abdul Ghani, Director of Pre-University Studies said, “Meet the Academics” session will guide parents and students on the various pathways available and offered by Curtin Sarawak which leads towards internationally recognised Curtin Australian degree programmes.

Foundation programme students at Curtin Sarawak can enroll for degree programmes and students who complete Curtin Sarawak diploma programmes can also opt to continue their studies in the degree programme with advanced standing or step into a world of exciting careers which await them. We have a team of internationally qualified, experienced staff and the pre-university programme at Curtin Sarawak offers students an international learning experience in Malaysia, right here in Miri, Sarawak”.

Present to meet the parents and students will be Pn Bibi Aminah Abdul Ghani, Ms Beena Giridharan, Deputy-Director of Pre-University Studies and other senior academic staff of Curtin Sarawak. Seminars regarding the units and electives in the foundation programmes and diploma courses will be provided to the public from 9.30 am until 10.30 am. Enrolment of students are simultaneously processed on the said day and school leavers are advised to bring along confirmed and/or forecast result slips from their respective schools.

Curtin Sarawak pre-university and diploma programmes offer a wide range of pathways to Australian Curtin degree programmes and successful careers.

The 5 streams available in the pre-university programme are:

  • Foundation Engineering
  • Foundation Commerce
  • Foundation Media
  • Foundation I.T
  • Foundation Health Science

Foundation program students could easily move into Curtin Sarawak’s internationally recognised programmes in all disciplines of Engineering, Geo-Science, Geology, Health Sciences, Commerce, Business Studies, Arts and Media.

Curtin Sarawak’s diploma programmes are:

  • Diploma in Business
  • Diploma in Network Engineering
