Miri – 29 August 2011 – Parents who intend to register their children for the spelling bee and colouring competition being held in conjunction with the Curtin Open Day 2011 on 10 September 2011 are encouraged to pre-register their children to ensure places for them.

The spelling bee and colouring competition will be part of the ‘Kiddies Corner’ activities being organised by Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) at the its multipurpose Recreation and Event Centre.

Parents are also advised that the age categories and times for the colouring competition have been revised. There will be two sessions – from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm for children aged 5 to 8 years, and from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm for those aged 9 to 12 years.

The spelling bee (for pre-schoolers) will be from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm.

Winners of the spelling bee, meanwhile, will receive cash prizes of RM250, RM150 and RM100, as well as prizes sponsored by Maybank.
