Curtin Bowling Club calling for participants for its 2nd Curtin Open Bowling Competition
Posted date:Miri – 7 October 2013 – The Curtin Bowling Club of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) is calling for participants for its upcoming 2nd Curtin Open Bowling Competition on 12 October 2013.
Bowling enthusiasts in Miri are invited to participate alongside staff and students of Curtin Sarawak in the competition to be held at Mega Lanes East in Bintang Megamall Miri.
Prizes worth up to RM3,000 will be up for grabs. The grand prize winners will receive cash amounting to RM500, a hamper, trophies and certificates of participation. The first and second runner-up teams will receive cash prizes of RM350 and RM250 respectively, in addition to hampers, trophies and certificates.
There will also be categories for Top 3 Best Individual Male Players and Top 3 Best Individual Female Players.
Curtin Bowling Club President Henry Ngu Chu Lik said the competition is a great way to encourage staff and students of the university, as well as members of the local community, to be involved in a healthy activity such as bowling.
“Through this competition, we also hope to build rapport with fellow bowling enthusiasts in Miri, as well as encourage teamwork among our members,” said Ngu.
Meanwhile, Curtin Bowling Club Advisor Jameson Malang expects more participants to register this year.
“All are welcome to participate in our competition and support our efforts to promote the sport of bowling and a healthy lifestyle,” said Jameson.
The event is sponsored by Dato’ Sebastian Ting, Captain Lau Choo Mee, Madam Tay, Jamaludin Mohd Wari, Edge Choice Sdn. Bhd., Hong Ping Timber Sdn. Bhd., Ritz Florist, ParkCity Everly Hotel Miri, and Curtin Sarawak’s University Life Department and Student Council.
