Curtin Malaysia hosting students from five varsities in five countries for Student Exchange Festival 2021

Miri – 25 June 2021 – Students of Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) are hosting Curtin Malaysia’s first-ever Student Exchange Festival, an international cultural exchange event organised in collaboration with students at Universitas Sebelas Maret in Indonesia, University Technology of Brunei in Brunei and Changwon National University in South Korea on 26 June 2021. Students at the Central Luzon State University in the Philippines will also be participating.

According to organising chair Danial Sharudin, the event, which will take place from 1 to 5 pm (GMT+8) on Zoom and Discord, will see the participation of over 60 students and academics from the five universities. They will engage in sharing sessions and a variety of games and challenges with prizes for the winning teams.

These activities are aimed at promoting cultural awareness and international relations, the exchange of experiences and ideas, and establish long-lasting friendships and networks between the participants and their universities.

“We aim to educate each other about our respective cultures and countries, and share our experiences with the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also take the opportunity to introduce our respective universities and the unique student experiences at our campuses.

“My team and I are truly excited to organise this event and represent Curtin Malaysia. It is a relatively large online event involving a large number of students and academics from five different countries and diverse backgrounds, an in different time zones, but we are glad we are able to pull it off and everyone can enjoy it from the comfort and safety of their own homes,” said Danial.
