Curtin Malaysia’s second semester Foundation intake extended to 13 September

Miri – 9 August 2019 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is extending its Semester 2, 2019 Foundation Programme intake to 13 September 2019 to cater to school leavers who missed its initial deadline but are still keen to enter its foundation programmes in Engineering and Science, Commerce or Arts.

Those who wish to apply are encouraged to do so right away as mini orientation sessions and a special schedule of classes are being scheduled to ensure help the latecomers get up to speed with those who enrolled earlier. Formal classes are scheduled to commence on 14 August.

Curtin Malaysia’s foundation programmes are intensive, focused programmes aimed at ensuring students attain academic requirements to enter undergraduate programmes, and are able to adapt to university life more confidently, both in terms of level and style of education.

Students are guaranteed places in the undergraduate programmes of their choice in the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business or Faculty of Humanities upon successful completion of their one-year foundation programmes.

Students benefit from low student-lecturer ratios in classrooms and a variety of modern, diversified teaching methods including workshops, tutorials, laboratory projects and group work. They are also taught by highly-experienced lecturers in modern, vibrant learning spaces and have access to various academic and personal support mechanisms such as one-on-one consultations with academic staff and numerous modules conducted through the university’s Office of Learning and Teaching.

As Curtin Malaysia applies Curtin’s ‘triple-i’ curriculum model which embeds industry links, intercultural and indigenous awareness and interdisciplinary study into each course curriculum, learning is not confined to classrooms and students can find learning beyond the classroom just as rewarding.
