Posted date:Miri – 21 May, 2009 – The Bookshop at Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) is celebrating Miri City Day 2009 in its own special way – by organising its Curtin Sarawak Book Fair offering attractive discounts on a wide range of books on 22 May 2009.
The Book Fair, which will be held from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm at the foyer of the university’s Harry Perkins Lecture Theatre, is meant to inculcate a reading culture amongst the public in Miri as well as its over 2,600 students, and at the same time promote the Curtin Sarawak Bookshop.
“There’s a misconception that the Curtin Sarawak Bookshop serves only the campus community. The public is also invited to visit and browse through our extensive selection of books, souvenirs, premium merchandise, computer accessories and supplies, telecommunication products, and more,” says Administration Manager Viziaty Drahman who oversees the management of the Curtin Sarawak Bookshop.
Also participating in the Book Fair are a number of local bookstores, computer and mobile communications vendors like Belle’s Bookstore, KK Bookstore, Centre Point Bookshop, Sing Min Store, Jin Hold Computer Sdn Bhd and Jeremy Mobile Phone Centre.
Items on sale at the Book Fair will include printed materials such as business magazines and all manner of books from fiction, current best-sellers and reference books to children’s books.
The fair will also feature electronic products like Besta electronic dictionaries, Casio and Hewlett-Packard calculators for engineering and business, telecommunication products and services, and a wide range of computer accessories and supplies. In addition, exclusive Curtin Sarawak premium merchandise and souvenirs will be available.
One of the best deals during the fair will be Harry Porter novels being sold at RM20 only, a hefty reduction from their original price of RM99. The offer is applicable to Curtin Sarawak Book Fair customers only.
For purchases of RM100 and above, customers are entitled to win attractive lucky draw prizes. All customers need to do is show their sales receipts at the Curtin Sarawak Bookshop counter and fill in a lucky draw form. They can then keep their receipt for tax purposes if they so choose.
