Curtin Sarawak to host three international conferences in August next year
Posted date:Miri – 27 August 2013 – The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering and Science, Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) recently signed an agreement with the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT) to host three international conferences at its Miri campus in August 2014.
The conferences are the 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Network and Computing, 4th International Conference on Manufacturing Science and Technology, and 2nd International Conference on Computer Technology and Science, which will be partially sponsored by the Sarawak Convention Bureau, a non-profit company established in 2006 by the State Government of Sarawak. Each conference is expected to attract more than 200 participants from across the world.
Associate Professor Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, senior staff in the Department of ECE, represented Curtin Sarawak in discussions with IACSIT and signed the agreement on behalf of the university with Dr. Xie Yi, Managing Director of IACSIT, Chengdu Branch in China.
IACSIT is a non-profit international scientific association that promotes the development of computer science and information technology. Its mission is to foster and conduct collaborative interdisciplinary research in state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies within its areas of expertise. IACSIT members include research and development centre heads, professors, research scientists, engineers, scholars, and university postgraduate and undergraduate students.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Ashutosh, the ECE Department is honoured to host all three conferences that will offer researchers the opportunities to showcase their innovative projects.
