Curtin Sarawak wins Outstanding Booth Award at The Star Education Fair

Miri – 15 January 2010 – Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak)’s booth at the recent The Star Education Fair at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 9 to 10 January 2010 won the event’s Outstanding Booth Award.

It was the first time the university has won such an award, and according to marketing officer
Nicholas Lau, it was a fitting reward for Curtin Sarawak’s efforts to significantly improve its exhibition booths this year.

“We want to enhance our presence at major education fairs such as this and have invested a great deal more in creating booths that are more aesthetically pleasing and impactful,” he said, adding that it is important to ‘stand out from the crowd’ at large exhibitions to attract your targetted audience.

Organised by Star Publications (M) Bhd, The Star Education Fair is Malaysia’s premier education fair and this year’s event was held for the 22nd consecutive year.

It provides the ideal platform for domestic and international exhibitors to showcase their products and services, and for students to explore education and career options, both locally and abroad. In addition to an exhibition, it includes seminars and forums.

Exhibitors generally comprise universities and colleges, international schools, foreign language schools, hospitality schools, management institutes, vocational schools, business schools, student finance services, e-Learning and distance learning institutes, and recruitment consultants.

Curtin Sarawak, established in 1999 and located in Miri, Sarawak, is the first and largest international branch campus of Western Australia’s Curtin University of Technology. For more information on Curtin Sarawak, log on to its website at www.curtin.edu.my.
