Entrants to Naim Land – Curtin Sarawak Short Video Competition stand to win attractive cash prizes

Miri – 1 March 2013 – The Naim Land –Curtin Sarawak Short Video Competition launched by Naim Land Sendirian Berhad and Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) on 18 January 2013 is still receiving entries until the closing date of 15 April 2013.

Entrants stand to win a RM2000 grand prize as well as additional cash prizes for first and second runner-up, and the People’s Choice, Best Script, Best Actor or Actress and Best Director awards.

Those interested to join the competition with the theme ‘My Dream High-rise Home’ are encouraged to submit their entries before the closing date to avoid disappointment. Entries can be in the form of documentaries, short dramas, monologues, music videos, comedy sketches, or any other innovative way of expressing the entrants’ impressions of an ideal high-rise dwelling or the benefits of high-rise living.

Their video clips should be no more than five minutes and should appeal to both young urbanites who are attracted to high-rise living in apartments or condominiums, and families looking to own safe, convenient and tastefully designed high-rise homes. They can be created using videocams, DSLR cameras or smartphones with video features, as well as enhanced using video editing software, as long as the images are of reasonably good quality.

Concepts from the entries may be adapted for Naim Land’s corporate video promoting its new high-rise properties to be built in Sarawak.

The competition is open all residents of Malaysia and amateur video makers or first-timers with an interest in short video making or script-writing are encouraged to participate.

The competition is a joint community project between Naim Land and Curtin Sarawak promoting high-rise apartment and condominium living. Its objectives include gauging the community’s view as to what constitutes ideal high-rise living, educating them on the benefits of high-rise living, exposing them to the art of video production and producing compelling marketing messages through digital means, as well as providing an exciting platform for local talents to demonstrate their talent and creativity.

In addition to cash prizes, the winners will receive trophies and certificates of participation.
