Curtin Sarawak is situated on a sprawling 300-acre campus in Senadin about 20 kilometres from Miri city and currently has about 2,800 students from some 40 different countries.

It is a popular choice both locally and internationally for many reasons, among them its international outlook, innovative courses, world-class teaching facilities, flexible study options, applied and practical subjects, use of advanced technology, partnerships with industry and government, ideal campus location, experienced academics and staff, and active community engagement. Most significantly, it is the relatively lower cost of studying and living in Miri compared to undergoing tertiary studies in Australia that attracts students to the university.

Curtin Sarawak’s status as a branch campus of Curtin University of Technology is quite unlike other offshore campuses which offer twinning programmes with foreign universities. Every aspect of the academic programmes at Curtin Sarawak, including course materials and examinations, are identical to programmes offered at its parent campus in Perth, Western Australia, so students get a quality Australian education literally at their doorstep. Furthermore, all degrees are awarded directly by Curtin University of Technology.

The university offers a wide variety of high-quality courses, including foundation studies in Commerce and Arts, as well as Engineering and Science; diploma courses in Process Plant Technology, Business, and Occupational Health and Safety; undergraduate degree courses in Arts, Commerce, Science and Technology, and postgraduate studies in Project Management, Business, Engineering and Science. Students also have a choice of a wide range of double majors, particularly in the business programmes.

All the courses have applied, practical subjects with a strong emphasis on industry links, which means students will have the opportunity to work closely with companies in their chosen field, often securing employment even before they graduate.

In addition, Curtin Sarawak offers pre-university and intensive English language courses, and admission pathways to suit a variety of needs, including bridging and foundation courses to help students meet university prerequisite requirements.

Studying at Curtin Sarawak not only ensures graduates a world-class degree and the practical experience students require to further their careers, but through accreditation of its programmes and courses, immediate recognition by government and professional bodies as well.

Degrees on offer at Curtin Sarawak are awarded under the Australian Qualifications Framework, a single nationwide system designed to ensure qualifications are recognised and accepted throughout the world.

Thus, a Curtin qualification enables graduates to operate as professionals anywhere in the world.
