According to Norsari John, marketing officer and coordinator of the CYA programme, the 2-day camp to be held on the university’s campus aims to strengthen the students’ learning skills, including communication, presentation, study, writing and reading.
Facilitating the camp will be the dean and lecturers from the School of Business, who will be assisted by advisors from the CYA, who are all current students of Curtin Sarawak, and staff of the University Life Department.
Students participating in the camp will take part in various sessions including ice-breaking and interactive discussions and academic presentations. Other activities include morning exercises and a barbecue dinner to ensure a truly fun-filled experience for the participants.
The camp is open to all members of the CYA and participation is on a first-come-first-served basis. Approximately 70 CYA members from various secondary schools in Miri have so far confirmed their attendance.
