Potential students have until 13 September to enrol for Curtin Malaysia’s Foundation programmes
Posted date:Miri – 3 September 2019 – Potential students who would like to enrol for the current (Semester 2) Foundation intake at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) are encouraged to do so before the new intake closing on 13 September 2019.
The original deadline last month was extended to cater to school leavers with SPM, O-Level and UEC qualifications who had expressed interest but had yet to enrol the Foundation programmes in Engineering and Science, Commerce or Arts.
Though classes formally commenced on 13 August 2019, newly-enrolled students will still be able to catch up through special orientation sessions and intensive replacement learning sessions for missed classes.
Students completing the one-year Foundation programmes are guaranteed places in the undergraduate programmes of their choice in the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business or Faculty of Humanities.
Curtin Malaysia’s Foundation programmes are intensive, focused programmes aimed at ensuring students attain the academic requirements to enter the undergraduate programmes and be able to adapt to university studies more confidently.
To give them the best opportunity to achieve their goals, students are taught by highly experienced lecturers and have access to various academic and personal support mechanisms. They also benefit from low student-lecturer ratios in classrooms and a variety of modern, diversified teaching methods including workshops, tutorials, laboratory projects and group work.
Curtin Malaysia is the largest international campus of Curtin University, a global university with campuses in Australia, Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore and Mauritius, and ranked in the top one per cent of universities worldwide in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2018.
Courses at Curtin Malaysia, including modes of delivery, timetables and examinations, are identical to those offered at the other Curtin campuses and degrees earned at the Malaysian campus are conferred directly by the parent campus in Perth. Students also enjoy undifferentiated learning experiences and student support mechanisms.
Like the main campus in Perth, Curtin Malaysia has a very global focus with over 4,000 students from more than 50 countries and highly-qualified teaching staff from some 20 countries further strengthening its international outlook.
Students applying to enter the Foundation programmes can enquire about Curtin Malaysia’s Merit Scholarships for both domestic and international students, and the Curtin Malaysia 20th Anniversary Scholarships for Sarawakian students. Both offer eligible students significant tuition fee waivers for Foundation studies.
Other financial aid such as PTPTN and Yayasan Sarawak study loans, EPF and SOSCO withdrawal schemes for education and a fee instalment plan are also available. Full details are available at http://scholarships.curtin.edu.my.
