Public invited to attend Master of Science (Project Management) information session

Miri – 22 November 2013 – Current students of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) and the public are invited to attend a Master of Science (Project Management) information session hosted by the university at its campus tomorrow.

The session will be held at LTBS 1, Heron 2 (School of Business) from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and will include a tour of the campus.

Themed ‘An introduction to Project Management: An Industry Perspective’, the session will be conducted by Chan Kwok Mow, Postgraduate Studies by Coursework Programme Coordinator of Curtin Sarawak’s School of Business.

Individuals holding undergraduate degrees wishing to further their education, increase their skill and knowledge base, and advance their careers through postgraduate study are encouraged to attend.

Curtin Sarawak offers Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Science (MSc.) degree courses in Project Management, which help students gain the understanding, knowledge and skills necessary for becoming effective project managers.

The programme is identical in all aspects to the one offered at Curtin’s main campus in Perth, Western Australia and adopts a generic approach to project management. Thus, it is applicable to a variety of industries, including construction, engineering, education, health, commerce, information technology, and research and development.

Furthermore, the qualifications are awarded under the Australian Qualifications Framework, and are thus Australian government-accredited and recognised Australia-wide, and by virtue of Curtin Sarawak’s self-accreditation status granted by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, are also recognised by the Malaysian government.

In addition, the qualifications are also accredited by the International Project Management Institute (PMI) and endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Postgraduate study at Curtin Sarawak is growing rapidly as the university gains wider recognition as a leading provider of business education in the region. In addition to the Project Management programme, one can choose to complete a range of other postgraduate programmes in Policy Sciences and Engineering Science, as well as Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes.
