Curtin Sarawak graduation ceremonies this 23 April
Posted date:Miri – 8 April 2016 – The graduation ceremonies of the Faculty of Business and Humanities and Faculty of Engineering and Science at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) this 23 April will see over 500 students graduate from various Curtin postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
The ceremony for the Faculty of Business and Humanities will be at 10.00 am and that for the Faculty of Engineering and Science at 2.00 pm. Both will be held in the university’s Recreation and Event Centre.
32 postgraduate students of the Faculty of Business and Humanities will graduate from the Master of Policy Sciences, Master of Science in Project Management and Graduate Certificate in Internet Communications programmes, and 248 undergraduates from the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce programmes.
Meanwhile, six postgraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering and Science will graduate with Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy degrees in Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, alongside 228 undergraduates from the Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Technology programmes.
Attending the ceremonies will be a delegation from Curtin University’s main campus headed by Acting Chancellor Sue Wilson, Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry and Acting Pro-Chancellor Michael Lishman, as well as Yang Berbahagia Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. George Chan Hong Nam, Pro-Chancellor of Curtin Sarawak.
Assistant Minister of Sports and Assistant Minister of Communication and chair of Curtin Sarawak’s Management Board, Datuk Lee Kim Shin; Curtin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd chairman Dato’ Dr. Hatta bin Solhi and members of the Curtin Sarawak Council, Board of Directors and Management Board are also expected to attend.
The graduation ceremonies will be followed by an Award & Scholarship Dinner at the Miri Marriott Resort & Spa at 6.30 pm in the evening.
Held annually, the dinner is where Curtin Sarawak scholarships are presented to qualifying students, and industry-sponsored awards are conferred on students for academic excellence, outstanding extracurricular activities and community service.
