Parent Info Day at Curtin Sarawak this Saturday
Posted date:Miri – 9 June 2016 – Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) will be holding a ‘Parent Info Day’ at its campus from 1 pm to 5 pm this Saturday for potential students and their parents to get essential information on studying at the university.
It will be opportune for those interested to enrol in its current July/August intake for undergraduate and foundation studies. Classes for undergraduate programmes will commence on 1 August and for foundation programmes on 15 August 2016.
The highlight of the event will be a sharing forum where parents of current and past students will share their experiences enrolling their children at the university. The forum will be moderated by Curtin Sarawak’s Director of Marketing, Alex Chung, who will also give an introductory talk entitled ‘Choosing a Higher Education for Your Child’.
“For parents, higher education is an investment in their children’s future and choosing the right university and degree is a big decision. We aim to provide them all the information they need to make informed decisions on enrolment, as well as appreciate the value of the quality Australian education and student experience their children will receive,” said Chung.
Chung added that parents can seek guidance from marketing and student support staff, as well as from lecturers and staff of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Humanities.
Representatives of PTPTN and Yayasan Sarawak will also be holding a talk on study loans and scholarships for students. Information on the Curtin Sarawak Merit Scholarships for SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level school leavers with outstanding results will also be available at the event.
In addition, officers of the University Life Department will showcase various aspects of Curtin Sarawak’s dynamic campus life and student development programmes, and parents can consult with staff members on courses to suit their children’s interests and career opportunities the different courses present. Tours of the 1,200-acre campus will also be conducted.
