Prominent PR consultant to give talk at Curtin Sarawak
Posted date:Miri – 15 September 2016 – Eswari Kalugalsalam Lawson, Director of Public Relations at Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide Malaysia, will be giving a talk entitled ‘Public Relations in the New Age’ at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) on 20 September 2016.
Lawson has more than 20 years’ experience in corporate communications and business development in profit and non-profit organisations as well as in providing consultancy services to multinational corporations (MNC) and Fortune 50 clients. She has a keen understanding of the business and challenges from the agency as well as client perspectives, having worked on both sides.
After reading law in London, Lawson started her career in journalism. She then moved into corporate communications roles in various capacities, including with Titan Chemicals, the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute, World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation and the ICLIF Leadership and Governance Centre.
As practice lead for corporate and finance with Essence Burson Marstellar, Lawson also advised local and international C-suite business leaders on strategic corporate positioning.
Prior to joining Arc Worldwide, she served as Vice President with FleishmanHillard Malaysia and as Managing Consultant with ShekinahPR.
Lawson currently heads the PR specialisation units of Leo Burnett Malaysia and Publicis One Malaysia and is also their corporate communications lead.
Since she joined Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide Malaysia, the agency has won multiple local and regional awards, namely the Gold Award SouthEast PR Agency of the Year 2015, PR Agency of the Year Malaysia 2015, Silver for Marketing Excellence Award from CSR for AEON Foundation, and Best Use of Video for PR in 2016.
