Fun-Nation Bowling Night helps students build ties
Posted date:Miri – 4 October 2017 – 40 new Foundation students of Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) participated in the Fun-Nation Bowling Night hosted recently by the university’s Curtin Bowling Club, University Life Department and Sports and Recreation Services section.
Held at the Megalanes East Bowling Centre Miri, the friendly competition was aimed at giving the new students the opportunity to get to know one another and to promote bowling as a healthy sport to the university community. It was divided into categories for groups and individuals.
The group category was won by team ‘Mum Spaghettis’ comprising Greogery Danial, Filbert, Christopher Nathan, Sudesh Visvanathan and Lim Kang Rui. Team ‘National Bowling Association’ comprising Alwin Wong, Brian Tan, Michael Cheng Zhi Qin, Chua Zheng Xuan and Ngyuen Quanh came in second, while Andrew Chia, Cheah Jia Chin, Thian Yee Ko and Lynwenna Low of ‘Team IDK’ placed third.
Advisor to the Curtin Bowling Club, Jameson Malang, and University Life Officer Muhammad Uwaes bin Mahmud gave away the prizes to the winning teams.
Meanwhile, Lim Kang Rui and Lynwenna Low won the ‘Best Male Bowler’ and ‘Best Female Bowler’ awards respectively. They received their prizes from Sports and Recreation Services Officer Mohd. Shahrizan bin Zaini and Curtin Bowling Club President Keng Soon Heng.
