2020 Graduation Ceremonies postponed

In an effort to minimise risk to students and staff at this time, Curtin University Malaysia has decided that this year’s Graduation Ceremonies and related events, including the Curtin Malaysia Award Ceremony, scheduled for 18 April 2020 will be postponed to a tentative date in June 2020. Once confirmed, the date will be published on the graduations website at graduations.curtin.edu.my.

This decision has been made in view of the worsening COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak globally, the inherent restrictions on travel worldwide, restricted entry to Malaysia and the State of Sarawak, but most importantly, in the health interests of our students, staff, graduates and family members, as well as the wider Sarawak community. It is also in line with the latest advice from the Malaysian Health Ministry that all mass gatherings in the country be postponed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

This postponement may be of inconvenience to some, but this is far outweighed by the benefits to all concerned and we thank all graduands and their family members for their kind understanding. As the new tentative date approaches, by which time we expect the situation to have stabilised or improved somewhat, we will be sure to keep you informed of any new developments.

More information will be sent to graduands through their Official Communication Channel (OC) in OASIS as it becomes available. In the meantime, should you have any concerns or queries, you may email our Graduations Team at graduations@curtin.edu.my.
