70 Curtin Students and Staffs to receive Prestigous Awards and Scholarships

In conjunction of Curtin Sarawak’s 7th Degree Graduation ceremony, 70 of graduating students and staffs are to receive their awards and scholarships.
The Awards and Scholarships Ceremony was initiated last year due to the growing number of students achieving academic excellence. The prestigious awards are from some of the top industries led by the Chief Minister’s Award and the Deputy Chief Minister’s Award to recognize top graduating Foundation students, current and graduating degree students, and Curtin University staff.
Among those recognizing top achievement for Curtin students will include Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Daiken, Ernst & Young, Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Murphy Oil, Nippon Oil, Petronas, Samling, GHD Perunding Sdn. Bhd., Shin Yang, Zecon Engineering Berhad, Shell, and Miri Chinese Chamber.
Various other prestigious awards from Curtin University will include the Pat Addison Award, Bill Nichols Scholarship, Curtin Sarawak Scholar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Scholar for international students, the Vice Chancellor’s List, YB Lee Kim Shin and Dato Wee Han Wen Excellence and Community Awards, Western Australia Premier Scholars, and Curtin Staff Study Support Award, Institute of Engineers (IEM) Malaysia, YBHG. Dato’ Sri Celestine Ujang Award, Sarawak Chief Minister and Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Award.
All the awards and scholarships are awarded based on merit, and the recipients are of the highest caliber in terms of their academic achievement. “Curtin University is proud to be able to produce so many strong students who will embody all the Curtin graduate attributes where they are able to apply discipline knowledge, have thinking, information, communication, professional and technology skills, life long learners with an international perspective, and are culturally understanding,” exclaimed Pro Vice Chancellor Professor John Evans.
