Curtin Malaysia offering PhD scholarships to qualified postgraduate research candidates
Posted date:Miri – 6 February 2020 – The Curtin Malaysia Graduate School and Office of Research and Development at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) are inviting interested and qualified candidates to apply for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Research Scholarships to conduct research in the fields of engineering, sciences, business and humanities under the 2020 Curtin Malaysia Postgraduate Research Scheme (CMPRS 2020).
A total of RM1.5 million has budgeted for the scheme, which is mainly for PhD students and includes a 3-year tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend of RM2,100 in addition to other benefits such as funding for consumables and attending conferences.
All research will be conducted under the supervision of experienced supervisors at Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Humanities, and monitored by the Curtin Malaysia Graduate School, which was established in 2015 to advance and promote postgraduate education and assist in the growth of a vibrant research culture at Curtin Malaysia.
Candidates holding Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) by Research, bachelor’s degrees with first class honours or master’s degrees with significant research experience are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be notified following screening of all applicants.
PhD programmes at Curtin Malaysia usually take at least three years of research study and candidates are expected to uncover new knowledge through the discovery of new facts, the formulation of new theories, or innovative interpretation of known data and established ideas. It is also expected that the results from a doctoral research study are publishable in reputable academic journals.
