Curtin Sarawak Organises Career Open Day 2008

For those of you hunting for a career or long to experience a different working environment, Curtin Sarawak has good news for you. Curtin Sarawak is organising a two-day Career Open Day for the public. The fair is happening on 17th and 18th September.

Twenty employers from various industries have confirmed participation in the fair. The companies are Ajang Shipping, Celcom Mobile, CIMB Wealth Advisors, CPA Australia, Homelite Development, Jobstreet.com, KTS Group, Naim Cendera, Out of the Box Personal Development, Petronas, Piasau Slipways, Prudential, Sealink, Shell Malaysia, Speedwing Malaysia, Sunshine Borneo Group of Companies, Titan Chemical Corporation, United Daily, WCT Engineering and Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak Malaysia.

Apart from the career fair, Curtin will also be hosting over four hundred upper Secondary School students on the first day. The students will have the opportunity to participate and experience activities from the different faculties within the University.

From experiments, project demonstration, laboratory tours, hands-on activity, student projects exhibition, educational games and talks, students will get a feel of the different programmes offered at the University and get an insight into potential career paths.

Haslina Malek, Manager of University Life exclaims “It is an opportunity not to be missed. The faculties’ staff have been working hard on creating exciting activities and I am sure students will learn a lot from their visit.”

Some of the activities for the day are Boggle – the language game, Business Quiz & Personality Test, Video Shoot Demonstration, Coke Fountain, Ross Stein’s Earthquake Model and Artificial Intelligence Building.
