Curtin Sarawak raised RM 41, 000 for MHA Miri

Curtin Recreational Club (CRC) of Sarawak Campus has successfully raised over forty-one thousand ringgit (RM41,000.00) for Mental Health Association (MHA), Miri Branch by organising a “Give Back Charity Dinner”.

YB Andy Chia is invited to witness the mock cheque presentation to MHA. He mentions that, “It is truly delightful to see organisations such as Curtin put overwhelming amount of effort in lending a hand to non-profit organisation like MHA.”

“A million thanks to those who have contributed sincerely. I’m sure the donation will be used wisely for the benefit of this organisation.”

MHA provides counselling for mentally stressed patients. Apart form that, temporary accommodation is also made available at the centre for those who require further examination.

Dr. Uma Devi Chairperson of General Hospital Miri claims that there are currently ten patients under mental unit care. The number has increased since previous years. “Some of the causes of mental issues include being unable to cope with stress and overuse of precarious drug”, she adds.
