Curtin Undergraduate Business Conference is Back!

Accounting Club of Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak Malaysia, is organizing its 5th Undergraduate Business Conference themed as ‘Jazz up, Fuel up, Shine!’ on 20th September 2008 in Lecture Theater which is sponsored by CPA Australia.

The purpose of the conference is to enhance students’ knowledge of the contemporary business issues, to grow Curtin Graduates Attributes and also to prepare undergraduates entering the corporate world.

“I’m very surprised that there were more than 150 students registered for the conference within a week which we only offer for 200 students”, says Deniss Chiu, the organizing chairperson for the conference.

Approximately 200 students will be attending the conference. Curtin Sarawak pro vice-chancellor, Professor John Evans, and Gerald Fernandez, Manager, Member Relations & Development of CPA Australia, are to witness the officiating event.

The topics will include corporate governance, the careers of an accounting graduates, understanding the working environment, building personal image and the skills needed when finding job.

The invited speakers are from OCBC Bank, Ernst & Young, Toastmaster Club Miri and Curtin Academic Registrar Office.

Curtin Accounting Club will also be presenting donations to three charity bodies in Miri which include Sunflower Centre, Old Folks Home and Mental Health Centre.
