New Curtin Malaysia foundation students enjoy Fun-Nation Bowling Night action

Miri – 4 May 2018 – New foundation students of Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) had a great time bowling and getting to know one another at the ‘Fun-Nation Bowling Night’ organised exclusively for them by the university’s Curtin Bowling Club and University Life Department recently.

It was held at Megalanes East Bowling Centre Miri in Bintang Megamall and saw 35 Malaysian and international students who had just enrolled in the university’s first semester intake taking part.

Besides being a social event, the friendly bowling competition was also meant to help them transition effortlessly into life at the university and promote bowling as a healthy sporting activity.

The competition was divided into categories for teams and individuals. Winning in the team category was team ‘Vandelita’ comprising Wilfred Foo Thien Hau, Klinsman Ong, Mohd. Nazrin Ting Abdullah, Damond Chung Kai Xiang and Tang Wei Hong.

The second-placed team ‘Anything Lah’ comprised Mohammed Iqbal Shanto, Andrew Chia Teck Fook, Nick Danial bin Mohd. Souffie and Mohamad Azim bin Abdul Manaf, while Muhammad Falah Effendi Yunus bin Mohd. Fathil, Wallace Low Tain Weng, Nikson Bong Zhi Cheng, Lee Ming Han and Tsong Jian Reng made up third-placed ‘Team Tiger’.

Advisor to the Curtin Bowling Club, Jameson Malang, presented trophies to the three teams.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Nazrin Ting Abdullah and Wong Voon Xing won the ‘Best Male Bowler’ and ‘Best Female Bowler’ titles respectively. They received their prizes from Senior University Life Officer Anita Drahman.
