Public invited to K-pop dance competition at Curtin Malaysia this Saturday

Miri – 24 May 2018 – Fans of K-pop dance in Miri are invited to attend the K-Hitz Dance Competition organised by the student-run Curtin Korean Entertainment Club of Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) this Saturday, 26 May 2018.

The competition will be held in university’s Auditorium from 7 pm to 10 pm and tickets priced at RM25 will be sold at the door.

State Assemblyman for Piasau Dato Sebastian Ting will officiate at the opening ceremony.

The competition will see five teams vying for the grand prize of RM1, 500. The first runner-up team will receive RM1, 000 while the second runner-up team will get RM800.

The teams are Aortaz from Kuching; LADIES from Bintulu, and Jaz17, Black Illusion and Dynamic Neuf from Miri.

Their performances will be judged by JIC Entertainment founder Jeff Chan, local dance group ChaosPlanet and Dance World Cup Malaysia qualifier gold medallists Kookie Family.

According to organising chairperson Ming Lee Yong, the competition aims to provide a platform for passionate dancers from different places and age groups to showcase their talent.

“We also aim to help those involved build their leadership skills and their determination to achieve their goals,” added Ming.

K-Hitz Dance Competition has the endorsement of the Miri City Council and Curtin Malaysia and is supported by Dato Sebastian Ting, Idoll Fashion, Yogu Frozen Yogurt, Paragon Lutong Hotel, Fullhouse Theme Café and King’s Park.
