Public invited to talks on SME landscapes and financing solutions organised by ICSMEE Sarawak Chapter and Curtin Malaysia
Posted date:Miri – 28 February 2018 – Members of the public, especially representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and business professionals interested to know more about the current landscape and financing solutions for SMEs, are invited to attend luncheon talks by representatives of the Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF) on 7 March 2018.
Organised by the International Council of SME and Entrepreneurship Malaysia (ICSMEE) Sarawak Chapter and the Faculty of Business of Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia), it will be the first public event hosted by the ICSMEE Sarawak Chapter since its inception in November last year and will be held in the Belian Room at the Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club.
The talks will commence following a networking session at 11.30 am, the first entitled ‘Empowering SME Business’ by Azizi Mustafa, Head of MIDF’s Development Finance Division, and the second on ‘MIDF Financing Solutions’ by Norazlan Zakaria, Head of the Marketing Unit of MIDF’s Marketing and Market Development Department.
This event is being sponsored by MIDF, admission is free of charge, and a complimentary lunch will be provided. The ICSMEE Sarawak Chapter, hosted at the Curtin Malaysia campus by Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Business, and is dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurship development by bringing together entrepreneurs, educators, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners to share knowledge and expertise.
It also aims to encourage people, government, institutions and large organisations to play a leading role in the development of entrepreneurship and SMEs; and drive social innovations and spearhead entrepreneurship growth and matchmaking between industry players and the research community through the ICSMEE’s and ICSB’s network of partners.
ICSMEE Malaysia is an independent organisation whose main objective is to advance the understanding of entrepreneurship and improve the competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME). It facilitates the creation and distribution of new knowledge through training, education, research and open exchanges of ideas between professions and across national and cultural borders. The organisation also aspires to add value to the Malaysian entrepreneurship ecosystem by leveraging on the International Council for Small Business’ (ICSB) worldwide network and influence in developed and developing countries.
